| WE MADE IT!!!!!
One of the first S.C.O.P.E. events of the year was the 2002 Miami Boat
show. A solid 15 members showed Miami and South Beach people how the
easily SCOPE members can fit in on the East Coast! The trip was 5 days
from Feb 13th to Feb 18th. Some members shopping for boats, some looking
at boats, and still others just "looking".................
Much thanks goes to SCOPE member Jeffrey Cheng for all the planning and
organization. Thanks from all that went! Can't wait for next year!!!

- Some of the gang arriving In Fort Lauderdale; Jeffrey, Stan,
Art and Nort while on the Hertz shuttle.
|

  |
- Boys will be boys.......they had to stop by the Auto Toy store
to check out the goods. An amazing inventory of exotic cars,
offshore boats and motorcycles.
|

  |
- Wednesday evening, various members arriving at different times
finally meet up together in South Beach.
|

  |
- First order of the day......a visit to the very impressive
Cigarette factory. Steve from TNT Marine was on hand to give a
personal and detailed tour. Also on hand was the new OffshoreOnly.com
Gladiator boat! Thank you Steve!
|

  |
- Next door to the Cigarette factory, TNT Marine allowed us to
hang out and crawl in and out of most every boat. Very
impressive hardware was around including a brand new, never
dipped, all white 40 foot Skater.....the Budweiser boat that
just ran over +190MPH a few days before.....some new Sterling
engines......a older custom Cat with four #6 drives on the
transom.....and Pete's little furry buddy at lunch.
|

 |
- A quick romp through Lip-Ship Marine showed us how Phil puts
together such nice rigging and details to the Cigarettes they
do. Also, a 50' Magnum was sitting nearby out of the water!
|

  |
- All the gang went out to "Cafe Med" for Valentines
dinner with Latin singer/guitar Alex Fox playing some steamy
Latin tunes. The girls all received long stemmed roses,
cocktails and wine were flowing and the food was excellent!
While sitting at our sidewalk table, Nort noticed a guy driving
by that looked a lot like Bob Teague......and it was!!! Bob and
his entourage stopped by to say hello while we had the cigars
lit, drinks were drank, and the band played most the night.
|

  |
- Most of the SCOPE people participated in the fantastic party
put on by OffshoreOnly
at Monty's in South Beach. This was the first of three
raging parties that night. The two others were our East Coast
counterpart, Florida Powerboat Club by Stu, and the Cigarette
Racing Team. Thanks!!!!! Some new friends have certainly been
made!
|
  |
- These two poodles have no stamina. After running 90+ in a 42
Tiger, Jeffrey and Stinson look pretty tired!
|

  |
- The boat show was very impressive, both in and out of the
water. A few members rode on John's 42 OuterLimits at +109MPH,
(thanks John!!!), toured the Mega Yachts with some friends with
Robb Report, and met some new local friends.
|

  |
- Nort and Jeffrey finish the trip with a lunch stop with some
friends at the famous
boating destination......"Shooters".
