SCOPE BOD member Lu "pie-hole" Lyall is seen running his
all white 2000 Formula FASTech with a race faring. Lu is a regular tow
boat in the Catalina Ski Race and is a fierce competitor. Also know as the
"Leak-Proof Trim Pump Cap Guy", Lu makes boating a family event

Additional Info: It was the former race boat known as Ohio Steel,
after retirement it was named NADA Chance, then Gotta Chance, and now Tim
has renamed it "Never Satisfied".
The boat is a 1991 Fountain Lighting 42'. It has Paul Pfaff 572ci Merlin
blocks with 10:71 BDS blowers, super chillers and dominator carbs, putting
out 900 hp each! This power is being put through a pair of Huber transmissions hooked up to Mercury Racing #6's. At the business end, a
couple of four blade cleavers.
This boat raced in the early 90's and was driven by none other than Reggie Fountain himself and John
Rebhan. In 1992 Reggie and John
captured the the OPT National and World Championships for Open V bottom in this boat.
And at one time held the record for the fastest V-bottom at over 123 mph.
Fountain also won the APBA World Championship in manufacturer Super-Vee. With a few exceptions, such as new paint, upholstery and carbon fiber dash,
the boat is still set up in it's race configurations with the three stand up
bolsters and ballast tank. Top speed is just over 90mph on gps.

helicopter during the Dick Simon Poker Run in May of 2002 on the way to
Catalina. HUGE AIR!!! The photo quality isn't that good (since it's
from a video capture) but the action is all "HotShot"!
Currently, the motors are currently at Paul Pfaffs getting "tuned

takes his Formula 382 "condo-on-the-water" to the waves with the SCOPE

which was postponed when the Key's evacuated due to a hurricane. Before
the Worlds was postponed, the driver was injured when the boat was stuffed.
The boat was severely damaged and it has not been determined whether
